Healthcare Science Week

This week is Healthcare Science Week, an annual celebration of the many careers in healthcare science. Every year, this week shines a light on the incredible work of scientists, support staff, and students. At MAC, we’re proud of our commitment to investing in our employees and their development within the health sciences.

Dr. Thuraya Al-Rihaymee, a Clinical Research Physician at MAC, shares her journey and the important role MAC has played in her career:

Dr. Thuraya Al-Rihaymee

“I’m excited to share my journey in clinical research and particularly highlight my invaluable experience with MAC. As a medical doctor with over a decade of clinical experience, my transition into clinical research was driven by a passion for evidence-based medicine. MAC has been pivotal in connecting me with opportunities, as I currently work as a Clinical Research Physician, while also holding roles such as  Chief Investigator and Principal Investigator.

MAC has been fantastic in supporting my education. In addition to an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine, MAC is supporting me to complete an MSc-level course at the James Lind Institute in Switzerland.

My goal for the future is to continue to contribute to the field of clinical research by focusing on deploying AI technology and advancing precision medicine to develop new therapies. Navigating such a dynamic research landscape poses challenges, but support from MAC provides me with advice, shared experiences, and insights from industry leaders.

To women studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, I recommend continuous learning, proactive networking, and embracing new challenges. Seek mentors and recognise the unique value of your perspective in advancing this field.”

Dr. Al-Rihaymee’s story is not just about personal growth; it’s a testament to MAC’s commitment to empowering its employees to thrive and innovate. As Healthcare Science Week celebrates the achievements and potential of healthcare scientists, MAC is proud to empower and invest in the people who drive progress in healthcare science.

As we continue to invest in and empower our team, we invite you to explore how MAC can support you in healthcare science. If you would like more information on how we can support your study, contact us here.
