Memory services and cognitive assessments.

The Memory Assessment and Research Centre in Bradford was opened in 1989 as one of the first specialist memory clinics in the UK. The clinic offered diagnostic and assessment services in response to the growing demand for a specialist memory clinic. Over the last 20 years the clinic has assessed over 4,000 patients with memory disorders and been involved in many of the worlds leading Alzheimer's disease clinical trials. Now located in a modern facility on the outskirts of Leeds, the clinic continues this tradition, providing first class service.
MAC Clinical Research now provides cognitive assessment services in six of its Clinical Research Centres (Lancashire, Merseyside, South Staffordshire, South Yorkshire, Teesside and West Yorkshire). The centres are staffed by Consultants, Neuropsychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, RGNs/RMNs and administrative staff; The clinics also support some PhD studentships.
All staff are highly skilled in the assessment and management of Alzheimer's disease and other memory disorders, and a multi-disciplinary assessment framework is employed. All staff are highly experienced in clinical research and have extensive capabilities with a wide range of cognitive tests, neuropsychological assessments and rating scales.
All Dedicated Research Sites at MAC therefore have sufficient skillbase and flexibility to provide service for virtually any clinical trial design, from early to late phase. MAC actively promotes research into Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive disorders. We are running a range of studies covering varying degrees of memory impairment, including mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease.
