What is it like to work at MAC?

For me it’s been a lovely welcoming warm place to work from the start of my journey here, being based at the Lancashire site the team have always been my work family. All MAC staff are very helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable who I have worked with over the years, I have learnt a lot from the multidisciplinary team at MAC and there is always someone willing to help! It is a fantastic place to work with lots of opportunity for progression and I would recommend working if you are interested in clinical trials. 

Can you comment on the company culture?

For me at MAC I feel I can voice my opinion and if I have any ideas or suggestions these will be listened to. It’s very much a team spirit here in all the teams I have had any involvement with.

What do you like about your job?

I like the flexibility there is in this job, it suits my lifestyle having a young family I can do the nursery drop off and start a little later to work a little later. I have the choice of working from home if needed or working from the Lancashire clinic and the team are always so welcoming. I find this role interesting and enjoy the challenges along the way that come with it. At MAC I have come a long way with my career development and have worked my way up from CTA, AP, SC, APM having this site level understanding has been a big help in my current PM role. My Manager’s have always been very supportive at MAC and approachable this has always been important for me to be able to be open and honest and feel supported.

What are the challenges?

For me working in PM at MAC it’s very much a Learning on the job, we are branching out into lots of therapeutic areas and this is great for my learning and development and interest in clinical trials. Recently, I have found there’s been a lot of change but this is for the good, MAC are growing and this means so do the opportunities! Every Sponsor and trial are individual and have different challenges to overcome but it makes the job that little more interesting!

The PM role and the working environment is very fast paced! This can have its challenges to ensure work is done on time and to a good standard. Managing my work load and being as organised as I can each day helps me with this.
